The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, the hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.ShiftMainly days with call, but may include evenings, night, and/or swing; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.Job SummaryThe EMI coordinator for the pediatric surgery service lines provides technical support and clinical leadership for the assigned service lines by ensuring all equipment, materials and instruments are operable and available the day of surgery; prepares the room for the case; trains providers in the proper setup and use of the equipment, materials and instrumentation; works collaboratively with the Central Sterile Processing Department and communicates with all outside vendors for the assigned specialty area; and maintains active communication among interdepartmental staff, Physicians and service line team members. The EMI Coordinator shall be a proficient Surgical Technologist in their specialty area and shall function in the scrub role to facilitate flow of surgical cases when needed.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have knowledge of surgical products, instruments, & equipment; strong communication including verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to identify and resolve problems; work as a team member; prioritize effectively; and possess excellent organizational skills.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
