Job Description: Assistant Superintendent (Multifamily Construction)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent with a focus on multifamily construction to join our team. The Assistant Superintendent will collaborate closely with the project superintendent and project management team to oversee all aspects of multifamily residential projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of multifamily construction projects.

  • Assist in managing subcontractors, labor resources, and material deliveries to maintain project timelines and budgets.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications.

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure project goals are met.

  • Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify construction requirements and potential challenges.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and inspection records.

  • Support the Superintendent in managing project budgets, costs, and resource allocation.

  • Assist in coordinating and managing project closeout activities, including final inspections and client walkthroughs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

  • Previous experience in multifamily construction or residential construction management.

  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and safety regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in construction project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
