DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will serve as the manager of the Fire Service Certification Program. You will direct a staff of Fire Services Education Specialists and a clerical employee that provide administrative direction, development, and coordination of professional certification programs for the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The perfect candidate will blend attention to detail with a forward-looking approach to coordinating the activities of the program area.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after the successful completion of a comprehensive on-site training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Fire Services Education Specialist (commonwealth title); or Three years of professional experience in developing and delivering fire and emergency service training programs, and a bachelor's degree in fire science, public safety, adult education, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: All positions require Fire Service Instructor 2 certification issued by a professional certification agency accredited in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress, or other professional certification agency accredited in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association.
