The State Fire Academy is looking for a Fire Services Education Specialist to support the Fire Service Certification Program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Under the direct supervision of the Fire Service Education Specialist Supervisor (i.e., Certification Program Manager) and the general supervision of the Assistant Fire Academy Training Services Administrator, the person in this position performs work assignments and daily activities assigned by the Certification Program Manager and assists in reviewing and preparing test documents, policies, and procedures; maintains certification records in the State Fire Academy Records Management System; provides guidance and oversight to assigned Field Test Sites on the administration of certification tests, and compiles reports and summaries of test activities for management.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Dependent on activations or other needs of the operation. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Part-time telework may be approved after the successful completion of a comprehensive on-site training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. 400 hours of experience providing instruction as a Fire Academy Instructor (commonwealth title); or One year of professional experience in developing and delivering fire and emergency service training programs, and a bachelor's degree in fire science, public safety, adult education, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: All position requires Fire Service Instructor 2 certification issued by a professional certification agency accredited in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress, or other professional certification agency accredited in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association.
