FERGUS COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING Assistant Kitchen Manager in LEWISTOWN, Montana

Part time or full-time position

WAGE: $16.50/hr, depending upon experience. Benefits available.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Kitchen Manager provides assistance in the kitchen of the Council on Aging. This includes preparing food, cleaning and helping manage kitchen volunteers.

DUTIES:

Helps prepare food for the entire meal service program.

Prepares food in accordance with senior nutrition standards and strives to help plan engaging meals for clients.

Responsible for, under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, supervising and training kitchen volunteers in the kitchen/dining room and for Home Adhere to food safety standards. Keeps freezer, cooler, storage room, and cabinets clean and odor free in addition to general sanitation and cleaning procedures.

Attends educational programs and is knowledgeable about food safety requirements, special food-groups, and the County SERVE SAFE classes.

Assist with inventory and ordering food and kitchen supplies.

Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have ability to relate well to senior citizens and those with disabilities.

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally required to sit, walk, reach with and hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, or crawl.
