Work Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours: Primary shift: 8:30a-4:30p, 9a-5p Secondary shifts: 8a-4p, 7a-3p, weekend and holiday rotation

Summary:

Assists the cardiologists, NP or specially trained RN as required with cardiac diagnostic testing procedures to include, but is not limited to performance of Stress Echo, Stress testing, TEE procedures, Tilt Table testing and other cardiac diagnostic procedures. Functions as part of the Cardiopulmonary Services team rendering comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary education for Inpatient and Outpatient populations. Evaluates the patient for potential referral to the Phase II cardiac rehab program.

Mount St. Mary's Hospital consists of multiple locations and associate may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

  • Licensed by State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • Valid Driver's License required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

  • Must possess current BLS at time of placement.

  • ACLS must be obtain within twelve (12) months from time of placement.

  • Both BLS and ACLS must be maintained to work in the department

EXPERIENCE

  • One year (1) year of recent experience in critical care nursing required. If no such applicant an RN with two (2) years recent telemetry experience will be considered. If there is no applicant with critical care experience or telemetry experience the hospital will consider applicants with at least two (2) years of Med/Surg experience. If an applicant is accepted with Med/Surg experience, upon acceptance of a position, the Med/Surg employee must satisfactorily complete the dysrhythmia training program and quiz within three months of accepting the position required.
