Summary

The purpose of a Safety Trainer is to work with all associates to ensure that authorized , affected, and awareness level trainings are completed and current in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company requirements.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs administrative duties to track completion of training, scheduling of classes and resources, compile and prepare statistical information on training program status.

  2. Conducts specialized safety training including Lock Out Tag Out Authorized training and Powered Industrial Truck Authorized.

  3. Conducts and assists Othel's conducting general safety and other related generalized training. May be asked to lead stretches or other light activities during training huddles.

  4. Create or update training materials and handouts.

  5. Keep track of and ensure 100% completion of all required monthly awareness topics.

  6. Other duties as directed.

Minimum Education

  1. Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills are required.

Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  1. Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills are required. Basic experience with computers and Microsoft software. Experience in a manufacturing environment and communicating with hourly production associates. Basic knowledge of manufacturing safety topics.

PREFERRED:

  1. Experience using specialized safety training (LOTO, PIT, Fall protection) in a manufacturing environment, Experience developing or editing presentations/handouts. Bilingual. OSHA 30hr or similar safety certifications.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
