The role

Due to continued growth within the Mars Science and Diagnostic division, we are looking for a Senior Lab Operations Manager to support our European growth. This is a process driven role, overseeing the strategic operational initiatives across internal/external partnerships, new products, and business integrations. You will work in partnership with both internal and external stake holders, ensuring outcomes are aligned with overall business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee operational implementation phases of laboratory integrations, greenfield or acquisition.

  • Assessing current operating model and processes, scoping and planning conversion/integration plans, and successfully executing these integrations.

  • Monitoring key measures of success across adherence to timelines, budget, partner, and customer experience.

  • Carry out operational activities as needed by the project at various levels including equipment procurement requests, providing technical requirements, personnel training, and management.

  • Liaise and form productive, collaborative relationships with key Lab Operations and other stakeholders of partner laboratories.

  • Identify areas of risk and special sensitivity and form plans to mitigate those risks.

  • Collaboration with all relevant functional teams and key stakeholders.

  • Lead process for developing and delivering detailed business and operational plans for key initiatives with ROI projections and budgets.

  • Establish, define, and implement objectives and goals for assigned projects and oversee projects to ensure teams to meet deadlines and established objectives.

  • Focus on developing, in collaboration with relevant leaders, a long-term business strategy.

  • Manage regular reports to relevant stakeholders on project progress including milestones, risks, and KPIs.

Experience and skill set required:

  • Proven experience working in a process driven, Senior Operations role.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is highly desired.

  • Reference lab or healthcare experience highly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience innovating, leading, and executing process improvement projects.

  • Project management experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively within the organisation to ensure alignment and consistency.

  • Collaborative and team focused approach.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to travel as needed to meet the needs of global operational objectives.

  • C1 or Business Professional level of English.

  • Fluency in German is highly desired.
