We are looking for:

This role supports the Levelland Plant in managing the site’s quality systems to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications while achieving superior quality and performance levels. This includes the supervision of quality laboratory technicians as well as maintaining technical and scientific support to the operation/production group.

We count on you for:

  • Follow HSSE policies to include:

  • Policies and procedures (PPE, operating manuals).

  • Monitoring implementation of HSE activities with follow-up and correction of discrepancies as assigned.

  • Participates as assigned in incident investigations and corrective measures.

  • Support the department in achievement of set HSSE goals.

  • Enhance employee participation through informal discussions and participation in shift meetings, SLSR audits, housekeeping inspections, behavioral observations, risk assessments, and training sessions

  • Support plant HSSE policies and procedures to provide positive feedback to exemplary employees assist in the development of improvement plans where employee performance does not meet expectations.

  • Role model by participation in Behavioral Safety Observations, Risk Assessment and Safety Training.

  • Comply with incident reporting procedures.

  • Support the site’s compliance with SYENSQO HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) requirements, operating permits, and regulatory requirements..

  • Participate, in and/or lead process hazard reviews, pre startup safety reviews, incident investigation, and management of change.

  • Provide support to incident investigations, process deviations, and MOC’s.

  • Develop, maintain, and implement site specific Quality Systems with respect to established internal specifications.

  • Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain quality of incoming goods and manufactured finished products.

  • Perform periodic audits.

  • Maintain Quality Laboratory results, procedures, equipment, including Calibrations and Verifications.

  • Monitor adherence to product specifications. Disposition of all out of spec product and notification of all concerned.

  • Act as a technical resource for operational group regarding product compliance.

  • Monitor and document process and product controls.

  • Maintain the site’s Document Control System and support the completion of regular review and training requirements. This includes SOP’s and other controlled documents relating to Policies, HSSE, Quality and Production.

  • Prepare and lead site management review meetings and assure follow-up actions are identified and completed as required.

  • Monitoring plant performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports including customer complaints and out of specification products and processes.

  • Ensuring that all operational management and Corporate Quality notified in the event of out of normal issues.

  • Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training, including initial and ongoing refresher training for employees and contractors as required.

  • Lead investigation and document all non-conformances and site specific customer complaints. Identifying Root Cause and Corrective Actions and follow ups.

  • Report all site specific Quality KPIs.

  • Ensure all laboratory tests and calibration procedures are properly understood & carried out.

  • Supervise laboratory and technical staff in carrying out tests and calibration checks.

  • Write technical and quality systems reports.

  • Manage and maintain the site’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.

  • Manage the site implementation of corporate quality goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to QA/QC.

  • Lead and/or support customer and certification audits with respect to ISO 9001, RCMS, and Customer Requirements

  • Maintain awareness of the business to optimize customer service, including operational schedules to best coordinate Quality efforts to serve customers in a timely manner.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, or related science.

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a Quality lab.

  • Three+ years managing technician level staff preferred.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, and/or chemical plant environment is a plus.

  • Knowledge and use of SPC techniques.

  • Knowledge of LIMS system, SAP desired.

  • Experience in managing ISO9000 Quality Systems.

  • Experience in performing chemical manufacturing auditing and hosting 3rd party or regulatory audits.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally

  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to lead a team and develop talent.

  • Good written and verbal skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Must have the ability to learn new programs and software as needed.

  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly.

  • Must be able to communicate information with others verbally and in written forms.

  • Must have good mathematical skills and problem solving skills.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOPs) and/or verbal instruction.

  • Ability to work independently with occasional assistance.

  • Ability to take ownership for general processes/products.

  • The ability to meet deadlines and targets.

  • Must have basic understanding of Production Schedules.

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,000.00 to $125,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives

Additional information:

  • Location: Levelland, Texas (USA)

  • This is a dayshift position. Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.

  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.

  • Available to work all shifts. Syensqo operates on a 24/7 basis.

  • Shifts consist of 12 hours. (For example: following a “2 day on/ 2 day off/ 3 day on/2 day off/2 days on/ 3 day off” rotation).
