System One Principal Security Solutions Architect in Lenexa, Kansas

About the position:

The Principal Security Solutions Architect is responsible for understanding the customer mission and business challenges. Designing, implementing, and supporting security solutions that meet those customer needs. The position will also provide network security designs, user documentation, and solution deployment support in some cases.

The PSSA will work directly with the Security Practice Lead or CISO to ensure company information and assets are adequately protected. The PSSA will also act as a technical sales counterpart to the Account Managers and Client Directors serving customers. Develop BoMs, Statements of Work, and mentor the consulting team in delivering products and services that company offers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop the security practice at company including participation in selection of the partners, products, and services we sell and use.

  • Educate and mentor the sales and consulting team.

  • Drive continuous vendor management activities for security OEM partners and delivery partners.

  • Meet with customers to understand their needs.

  • Develop proposals and strategic architectures for customers (BoMs, Statements of Work, Target State Architectures)

  • Lead demand generation events (webinars, in person training events, community events)

  • Understand and communicate the NIST framework, CMMC and other compliance/governance models that customers will leverage with their security practices.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive IT security and risk management program.

  • Create and Manage IT security and risk management training programs for employees, clients, and contractors.

  • Serve as an internal consultant to the company’s leadership regarding cybersecurity awareness and education.

  • Translate marketplace innovations into business opportunities.

  • Formulate security solutions based on clients’ requirements and applications.

  • Handle security escalations at various levels.

    Required skills:

  • CCNP in Security or CCIE in Security

  • 10+ years of experience in Security and Infrastructure Compliance Management

  • 10+years of experience in Security leadership or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • Ability to manage large scale, continuous improvement, and training programs.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to confidently train and present to live audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make effective and timely decisions.

  • Experience in Vulnerability and Penetration testing methods and procedures.

  • Experience with Incident Response processes, vendors, and solutions.

  • Expertise in market-leading vendors’ security suites, including Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto, regarding their solutions for firewall, virus and malware management, DNS, MFA, ZTA, NAC, SASE, SIEM, SOAR, and others.

    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
