Vestis Services Distribution Warehouse Associate - Pick/Pack positions in Lenexa, Kansas

Description

  • Perform the assigned tasks in a proficient manner. This includes attaining a minimum of 100% of the production standard for tasks for which production standards have been established.

  • Maintain high quality standards on all work performed. Inspect all materials for damage and properly report the findings to the appropriate responsible person for resolution.

  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work area. Immediately report all broken or malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the appropriate person for corrective action.

  • Follow all company and work rules.

  • Work effectively in a team environment and have good communication skills.

  • Support an environment of continuous improvement by making suggestions and implementing where possible.

Descriptions of various functions:

Clerical

  • Follow shipping/receiving and clerical procedures to include bill of lading, manifest.

  • Ensure that inventory transactions are kept current at all times (no more than (1) one-day backlog).

  • Check accuracy of transactions.

  • Knowledge of customer returns procedures.

  • Sample orders processing, customizing order preparation.

  • Use Quick books and Mysis system daily

  • Bridge orders from Phast to Quick books, Mysis

  • Generate daily reports (inventory, shipping, production, etc).

  • Create and print waves of orders in Quick books, Mysis.

  • Maintain production statistics for incentive pay system.

  • Provide administrative support for management.

Picking

  • Process on-line orders. Pick merchandise as specified on carton labels.

  • Pick accurately in a timely manner under a time-based incentive system.

  • Maintain clean work area including removal of corrugated.

  • In the event of stock-outs follow dept procedures in getting replenishment.

  • Proactively seeks other ways to be productive or seeks out Supervisor for direction in doing so.

  • Stocking

  • Stocking active pick locations with the product and disposing corrugate.

  • Stock accurately in a timely manner under a time-based incentive system.

  • Using a pallet jack, move pallets of stock to locations around the floor to most efficiently work from.

  • Using a razor knife, cuts cases open according to dept. standards.

  • Bring any nonconforming cases to the front to be logged and adjusted.

Packing

  • Responsible for packing and placing packing slip in customer orders.

  • Inspects some merchandise for conformance to company standards.

  • Audits some merchandise to ensure it matches customer order (quantity, size, color, sku).

  • Identify and include inserts (catalogs, etc.) in shipping containers.

Shipping/ Receiving

  • Ensure that all orders are loaded per specified shipping instructions.

  • Ensure stock is transferred in a timely manner.

  • Receive merchandise from outside vendors against Advance Shipping Notice (ASN).

  • Facilitate the movement of stock and incoming packages to be distributed.

  • Sort and separate boxes for shipping and receiving.

  • Assist with scanning of boxes for shipment.

  • Transfer stocks and deliver material as required.

Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Operator

  • Put away and locate stock in warehouse

  • Pull available stock as requested by Quick Books, Mysis pull list

  • Pull cases for transfers, liquidation, RTV's and other needs as needed

  • Maintain department quality and production standards.

  • Track daily tasks on production sheets.

  • Perform aisle audits (cycle scans) as needed.

  • Daily/weekly upkeep of equipment and facility cleaning as needed

  • Job Specifications (Education, experience and core-competencies)High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred .

  • Experience being held to productivity standards and deadlines.

  • Previous experience in production or distribution, with primary focus on productivity and repetitive tasks preferred.

  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationships with others.

  • Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work.

  • Ability to learn, understand, and adhere to all applicable safety precautions and procedures.

  • Support and participate in the Company's production and quality standards with a continuous focus on customer service.

  • Ability to speak, understand and read basic English.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Some assigned tasks are repetitive in nature.

  • The following physical activities are required: lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, walking, standing (for some positions for the duration of the shift), pushing, pulling. Must be able to routinely lift and maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs. without assistance. May be asked to occasionally lift and/or maneuver 60+ lbs.

  • Some positions require ability to perform the following; differentiate between colors; to recognize, record and match numbers.

  • Overtime may be required.
