Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through STRL Mission Support direct hire authority. Responsibilities You will analyze work orders or work requests for the manufacture or repair of aircraft electrical systems or equipment. You will perform routine disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, test, installation, and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems. You will plan the sequence of work to disassemble, repair, assemble, install, and test aircraft electrical cables, equipment, and accessories. You will analyze circuits working from the system integration schematics and wiring or logic diagrams to facilitate repair of aircraft. You will be required to have regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position. You will accomplish other duties as assigned. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION A. Have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks of an Aircraft Electrician including; disassembling, repairing, modifying, assembling, testing, installing, and maintaining of aircraft electrical systems, equipment, and accessories such as automatic flight control, fire detection, instrumentation, power distribution, fuel indicating systems and utilities used in and on fixed and rotary wing aircraft; removing, repairing, or replacing of defective circuits, wires, connectors, control units, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems; using common hand and power tools such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering irons, and heats guns; working from blueprints, technical manuals and wiring diagrams; performing final functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems; and assisting equivalent and lower grade workers in a full range of duties. B. Have the ability to perform the full range of tasks of an Aircraft Electrician including; disassembling, repairing, modifying, assembling, testing, installing, and/or maintaining of aircraft electrical systems, equipment, and accessories such as automatic flight control, fire detection, instrumentation, power distribution, fuel indicating systems and utilities used in and on fixed and rotary wing aircraft; removing, repairing, and/or replacing of defective circuits, wires, connectors, control units, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems; using common hand and power tools such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering irons, and heats guns; working from blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams; and assisting equivalent and lower grade workers in a full range of duties. C. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation/recruitment may be authorized.
