Summary/Description:

  • Performs daily and turn around inspections as required to the applicable procedures.

  • Initiates and completes applicable maintenance forms.

  • Performs Aircraft fuel sampling/servicing as required IAW established procedures.

  • Launches and recovers aircraft.

  • Serves as aircraft taxi director during launch and recovery operations.

  • Tows aircraft and act as aircraft brake rider when required.

  • Ties down and covers aircraft utilizing established procedures.

  • Provides technical, assistance, guidance and instruction as required.

  • Utilizes two-way communication equipment as required.

  • Ensures compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, Egress Familiarization, and Tool Control programs.

  • Ensures compliance with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.

  • Ensures safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.

  • Provides courteous and professional customer service.

  • Operates portable firefighting equipment.

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the work center.

  • Performs other qualified duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

Aircraft Worker: The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of

higher grade worker, assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight-surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and

heating systems, removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines. This worker may supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, makes adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments; obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples, may perform pre-flight, thru-

flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, enter in the maintenance records description of the

work performed, and services engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of

overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have 4 years military o-level aircraft experience or A&P License.

  • Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

  • Shift work is required.

  • Must complete Plane Captain qualification syllabus and all qualifications to obtain PC within 90 days of employment.

  • Obtain any additional qualifications or license required to maintain aircraft and qualifications.

  • Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties and able to lift 50lbs.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • Must have ability to inspect and maintain all company and customer assets, including all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with applicable directives, and ensure that those assets are utilized in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

  • Must have ability to participate in the investigation of any injury and/or the resolution of any problems in quality or performance that may hinder production or be detrimental to the program.

  • Must participate in the training and qualification of new personnel.

  • Must promote communication to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident prevention, quality of work, and environmental compliance.

  • Must promote positive communication with all site departments, company management, and our customers to ensure the proper execution of our contract.

  • Must participate in required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual training and ensure that it is documented in a timely manner.

  • Complete initial attendance sheet daily, verifying your start time and proper accounting of all assigned PPE.

  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance level required.

  • Travel required up 75% of the time.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 US Government Clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
