Description

As a Senior Camp Counselor you will implement scheduled summer camp programs at Camp Wind in the Pines under the direction of the Camp Director. Maintain Department of Early Education and Care, QRIS, and Department of Public Health requirements, health and safety regulations and promote the highest quality of customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule camp programs and activities; work with the Camp Director to ensure that a creative environment is developed, implemented and maintained; develop programs that allow children to participate in a variety of well-planned activities throughout the summer including a summer literacy program.

  • Supervise and schedule Counselors in a supportive manner and encourage positive and effective communication among staff.

  • Implement routines for each program offered, varying routines as appropriate to keep participants interest.

  • Communicate with parents on a daily basis regarding progress of their child; work with Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director in working with families who are in need of intervention.

  • Enforce the policies and rules of camp; assist with the management and cleanliness of the campsite, thus ensuring the safety of all campers.

  • Attend monthly staff meetings.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Experience in recreational camp setting required

  • Ability to work with families and children of diverse backgrounds

  • CPR and First Aid Certification required
