Vivint Sr. Software Engineer in Test in Lehi, Utah
Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
Providing fully automated testing and quality assessment for our thermostat and energy products
Implementing automated tests with an emphasis on reliability, repeatability, and metrics measurements.
Integrating test solutions into CI/CD pipelines
Root-causing test failures and indicator changes and driving quick resolution of product, infrastructure, and environmental issues
Maintaining a database of automated test cases with thoroughness and consistency
Debugging and diagnosing embedded systems, video streams, and networks
Frequently collaborating with teams to work towards long-term automated product quality goals
Required Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
4+ years of experience with software test automation
4+ years of experience with Linux
2+ years experience with Python
Required Skills:
Experience working with and testing back-end software
Experience with unit testing frameworks
Experience with metrics gathering and reporting
Excellent test plan and test case writing skills
Ability to demonstrate solid software development practices
Ability to take ownership of test automation for specific components and features
Ability to promote best practices for test automation across the entire development organization
Research, evaluate, and propose technologies and tools to use for test automation purposes
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience working with Mesos, Akka, and Kafka
Experience working and debugging with Scala, Java, and the JVM
Experience working with cloud platforms and applications
Experience working with microservices
