Mountainland Technical College On-the-Job Cosmetology Instructor in Lehi, Utah

On-the-Job Cosmetology Instructor

Location: Lehi, UT

Status: Part-time

Hours: Varied, approximately 20 hours a week

Pay / Hourly: $17.57

SUMMARY

As the On-the-Job Cosmetology Instructor, you will teach students cosmetology, barbering, nail and skin care techniques, while preparing to acquire a Utah State Cosmetology Instructor’s License. You will work under the supervision of a licensed instructor until you have met the requirements to become an instructor yourself.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach engaging lessons, using hands-on, skill-based competency training to the greatest extent possible

  • Develop and/or maintain lesson plans for classroom and lab activities.

  • Manages, and supervises students in the classroom and on the practical floor.

  • Evaluate instruction/learning by means of written, oral practical and performance tests.

  • Maintains student-oriented approach, and desirable classroom conditions. Check equipment daily for hazards, ensuring it is maintained and properly repaired.

  • Maintains accurate and current reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required

  • Graduation from an accredited Cosmetology School or apprenticeship

  • Valid Utah State Cosmetology Instructor's License

  • Minimum of three years industry experience is required

  • Prior teaching experience is preferred
