VCA Animal Hospitals Licensed Veterinary Technician - ER/ICU Relief/On Call in Leesburg, Virginia

VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care at The LifeCentre in Leesburg, VA is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician or LVT-eligible to join our team for part time Relief/On Call.

We offer 12 hour or 10 hour shifts with shift differential for overnights and weekends.

About the Role

We want you to utilize your skills and knowledge to the fullest, while continuing to learn and grow. Duties will include:

  • Patient triage and assessment

  • Client education and care

  • Venipuncture, catheter placement

  • Laboratory sample collection and processing

  • Radiology and diagnostic testing

  • Medication preparation and administration

  • IV fluids and infusion set up and maintenance

  • Anesthesia monitoring

  • Surgical preparation and assisting

  • Safe and effective patient handling and restraint

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients

  • Medical recordkeeping

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia, license-eligible, or enrolled in an AVMA accredited program.

  • Experience with the level of care and fast pace of an ER/ICU settin

  • Compensation is competitive with consideration taken for experience and discussed upon hiring.
