Siemens Energy Engineering Tech Maintenance IC&E/Mechanic in Leesburg, Virginia

A Snapshot of Your Day

The IC&E/Mechanical Maintenance Technician will coordinate and perform all plant instrumentation, controls, electrical and mechanical maintenance. They will also cross skill to assist in IC&E Maintenance Technicians and plant operations. All maintenance technicians will be responsible for planning their work, obtaining resources, acquiring parts, and controlling costs.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and performs preventative maintenance on digital and analog control systems, plant instrumentation, and power plant low and medium voltage equipment.

  • Installs, repairs and maintains a variety of plant equipment including, but not limited to, electrical bus and bus duct, dry and oil immersed power transformers, switchgear, power plant equipment, lighting systems and AC and DC motors.

  • Monitors, installs and repairs steam and combustion turbine generator components. Maintains and repairs HRSG, fuel, combustion and safety management system devices and equipment.

  • Performs preliminary assessment on pumps, fans, burners, air compressors, motors and electric and pneumatic valves. May direct the work of contractors.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant mechanical equipment as required.

What You Bring

  • Trade school, military, or technical training school.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in mechanical, instrument, controls, and electrical applications.

  • Working in varied outdoor environments such as all-weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions, and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces.

  • Working in proximity to high voltages and current with proper training and equipment, operating heavy equipment and rolling stock and entering confined spaces or hazardous environments may be required while often being exposed to equipment and machinery noises.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
