GENERAL CLERK/Warehouse Clerk (up to $18/hour with flexible shift)

Tuknik Government Services (TGS), a Koniag Government Services company, has an exciting opportunity to proudly support the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), in their mission to "uphold America’s promise as a nation of welcome and possibility with fairness, integrity, and respect for all we serve.” This position is at the National Records Center in an underground storage facility that spans more than 300,000 square feet, and houses millions of historical documents that our team maintains. In this role, you will be a valuable part of a dynamic team that manages the records and their movement both within the facility and from other USCIS locations. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with the requirement to lift materials, climb ladders, and push/pull carts loaded with files as part of their day-to-day activities, along with being able to perform a high volume of walking through the facility. You will also need to be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance as part of this role. This position pays up to $18.00 per hour plus the opportunity for performance based bonuses.

What You Will Need:

  • Preferred minimum two (2) years of work experience

  • Written, oral and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Reading and keyboard skills.

  • Time-management skills.

Requirement

  • Be able to pass government background security clearance check (includes a criminal/credit check), as needed

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and retain a government public trust security level clearance.

  • Position requires ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds repetitively

  • Position requires ability to stand for long periods or sit for long periods, walk on concrete floors for substantial distances, bend/squat to reach lower shelves, climb ladders to reach upper shelving, push/pull carts loaded with files, transport objects using assistive equipment on a repetitive basis.

  • Procedures, applies common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagram instructions.

  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is located in an underground storage facility that spans more than 300,000 square feet, and houses millions of historical documents that our team maintains. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, push/pull carts loaded with files. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs repetitively. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
