Our Regulated T&D business, led by Mark, is home to one hundred talented people ranging from our early career professionals to established engineers and project managers working across the UK electricity market to help keep the lights on!

Working in partnership with TNO’s and DNO’s we plan, design and deliver new customer connections as well as network reinforcements to ensure the infrastructure is ready for green investment and new technologies. Our bright sparks, spread across five key locations including Guildford, Stafford, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle (with ambitions to have a presence in our Birmingham and Glasgow office) are encouraged and supported to realise their potential with training courses, further education and mentors for chartership. Furthermore, we ensure our teams have time to connect with social funds available to reward the great work they do from curry nights to go-karting to summer parties and lunchtime pizza deliveries.

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the team, this is a varied role as detailed below:

  • Develop HV and/or EHV project initial functional requirement into compliant cost-effective engineering solutions.

  • Project manage the development and delivery of complex / large HV and/or EHV projects (cable, overhead, plant and civil) to time, cost, safety and quality.

  • Interface with customers as well as internal and external resources to develop and deliver HV & EHV projects.

  • Undertake the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed HV and/or EHV projects.

  • Effectively communicate with internal engineering and industrial resource.

  • Coordinate external service providers and administer commercial.

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience working on HV and/or EHV substation projects.

  • Understanding of electrical distribution plant items operations, controls and associated systems such as switchgear, Protection, Power Transformers, Underground power cables and Overhead lines.

  • Good understanding of the H&S and CDM requirements for projects.

  • An ability to undertake the role of ‘Designer’ and/or ‘Principal Designer’ under the CDM regulations.

  • An ability to interpret technical documentation relating to the design of electrical substations.

  • Full driving licence with the ability to travel as per project needs.
