Status: Full-Time; Exempt

FECON, LLC is a vegetation management equipment manufacturer located in Lebanon, Ohio near Kings Island Amusement Park. We design, build, test, sell and service our equipment consisting of products such as our well-known “Bull Hog” mulchers, the Stump Ex, our high-quality FTX tractors of varying horsepower, as well as many other attachments. Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the manufacturing processes. Confers with the production and engineering departments to evaluate and improve capabilities, scheduling, specifications and quality standards. Partners with management team to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inputs accurate data entry to ERP management system and manages data such as routings and bill of materials.

  • Supports the deployment of capital equipment.

  • Completes all documentation as needed ensuring all training procedures are followed.

  • Directs and monitors training needs for new employees, new tasks and or new equipment.

  • Performs lean line design and plant layout for best manufacturing processing throughout the plant.

  • Conducts time studies and create Yamazumi charts.

  • Utilizes lean manufacturing: flow, design, Kanban, 5S, etc. to make improvements.

  • Leads project management for shop Fsloor improvements.

  • Develops and improves testing procedures.

  • Supports built in quality intiaitives.

  • Works with the engineering department on manufacturability improvements.

  • Defines tooling and fixturing needs.

  • Communicates/escalates daily information, trends and concerns.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of capital project management.

  • Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software

  • Understands basic fabrication and machining process, laser, brake, cutting machine.

  • Fixture design experience is preferrable.

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principals is required.

  • Ability to implement improvements.

  • Possesses strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to understand part drawings and how to implement changes to improve manufacturability.

  • Skilled in using MS Office

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Understands weld processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • A substantial portion of this position is spent on the Shop Floor. Must be able to work within the production facility being a resource for all areas.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
