JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides diversified engineering functions as required to projects and support manufacturing orders.

  • Produces 3D models and layouts of major portions of equipment, sub-assemblies, & prepares technical information as required.

  • Designs products using solid modeling/parametric design software (Solidworks) and other methods as appropriate.

  • Assembles necessary drawings, bills of materials, and purchase requisitions required to process a manufacturing order, preparing arrangement drawings as required by customer"s specifications.

  • Reviews all project drawings for conformance with current standards and takes corrective action where required.

  • Prepares pattern and/or tool order requisitions.

  • Designs detail parts, which do not require stress calculations.

  • Independently calculates V-belt drives, motor/base/coupling calculations, weights, center of gravity, etc.

  • Investigates and assists with resolving problems during production or with field installation as assigned.

  • Reviews and processes engineering change requests and engineering change notices.

  • Researches installed equipment and gather data for sales and applications use with clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma with 5-7 years of relevant work experience OR

  • Associate's/Bachelor's Degree with knowledge of technical engineering

  • Experience working with Solidworks CAD software with ePDM and Weldments experience

  • A broad knowledge of technical engineering, machining, welding & fabrication

  • Ability to read drawings along with a strong understanding of sound GD&T practices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action.

  • Experience working in an environment which designs large, rotating capital equipment, preferably in the paper, pulp industries or similar is preferred but not required .
