Title: Research Associate - Mammalian Cell Culture

Role

We are seeking a Research Associate with experience in mammalian cell culture and protein expression to join our team. This role will support Adimab's novel antibody discovery, maturation, and production platform and closely interface with the Antibody Discovery, Protein Analytics, Molecular Core, and Computational Biology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Culture, expand, and bank mammalian cell lines

  • Conduct routine transient transfections of HEK and CHO cells at various scales (24-well plates to large shake flasks)

  • Develop stable cell pools and clones for both secreted and membrane-bound proteins

  • Periodically conduct studies to improve protein expression and yield; evaluate novel expression vectors, host cell lines, and transfection reagents, and present findings at company-wide lab meetings

  • Maintain stock of host cell cultures (HEK and CHO), transfection reagents, and culture media

  • Contribute to general upkeep of the cell culture lab and cell stocks

Needed upon hire

  • B.S. with 1-3+ years experience

  • Proficient in aseptic techniques for culturing mammalian cells in both adherent and suspension formats

  • Skilled at expressing proteins in mammalian cell lines, either transiently or stably

  • Knowledge of the cell and molecular biology underlying protein expression

  • Ability to meticulously document and execute bench work

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrates strong problem solving skills

  • Curiosity and passion for science demonstrated by reading scientific literature

  • Track record of communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisor

  • Adaptable and productive in a fast-paced environment

  • Available for some weekend work

  • Industry experience and proficiency with flow cytometry preferred
