LifePoint Health Ultrasound tech-OB/GYN in Lebanon, Kentucky

The Sonographer will provide optimum patient care while performing various OB/GYN ultrasound exams, must be able to correctly identify all areas of interest and image anatomy in varied patient positions. The diagnostic sonographer must provide services to all patients, families, and physicians serving this population. Perform transvaginal and transabdominal gynecological and obstetrical ultrasounds. Sonographer is responsible for recognizing and reporting equipment malfunctions, immediate cleaning / disinfecting of equipment after each patient, proper use of all PPE per national standards, correctly coding all exams, and immediate submission of exams through the electronic medical record for viewing by the physician. He or she must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning and ultrasound imaging equipment. The technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill and understanding of image quality. Must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the tests and relieve their anxiety.

Must demonstrate an understanding of Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, Radiation Safety, Imaging Equipment, Infection Control and Quality Control techniques. Assists in maintaining a work area free from hazards. Presents a pleasant and helpful manner to patients, physicians, subordinates and other members of the department staff. The diagnostic sonographer must perform routine diagnostic imaging studies, as needed.

The diagnostic sonographer must be registered (RDMS) or registry eligible with the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography. High school graduate or GED required. Minimum two years experience as a sonographer OB/GYN experience preferred.
