LifePoint Health Practice Coder/Biller in Lebanon, Kentucky

This position is responsible for over seeing the day to day operations in a physician office or in a specific department of a physician office. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership, management and evaluation of two to three office employees. The incumbent may prepare work schedules, be involved with financial bookkeeping, employee relations and employee training. This position will be required to provide back-up for absences or heavy volume as needed in the office as appropriate depending upon their knowledge and training in the specific area. The incumbent may assist in direct patient care activities, utilizing age appropriate principles of growth and development for patients of all ages according to the practice specialty. The incumbent is responsible for researching and resolving denied claims. Follows up with accounts over 60 days and take necessary action to expedite payment and/or zero account. Performs necessary steps to obtain insurance coverage for self-pay accounts.**

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Previous medical office billing and coding experience preferred.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in PC skills with the ability to use the office’s systems, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word andAthena.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
