Ridgeview Medical Center Medical Receptionist/Front Desk in Le Sueur, Minnesota

Purpose of Job This position is responsible for creating a positive first impression to patients, the complete and accurate registration and scheduling for patients and various administrative duties. In addition, is responsible for answering basic insurance questions from patients. Job Functions Performs basic receptionist duties to include answering and returning phone calls, retrieving voicemail and maintaining department office equipment and supplies. Greets and provides courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Assures accurate processing of patient registration and scheduling. Scans, files and posts documents into patient charts. Assures reimbursement through basic insurance processing tasks. Monitors petty cash. Coordinates requests for release of medical information. Occasional travel may be required to regional clinics to support business needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Employment Requirements Minimum Education/Work Experience High school graduate or equivalent One year of medical office experience or completion of Medical Administrative Assistant/Medical Receptionist Certificate. Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications Ability to perform basic math functions and count money Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to work autonomously and as a team Knowledge of Medical Terminology Basic knowledge of insurance information Ability to multi-task Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above Preferred Qualifications Previous electronic medical software experience Occasional travel may be required to regional clinics to support business needs.
