The Maintenance Technician performs routine and break down maintenance on processing and packaging equipment, and is responsible for keeping the plant running and in compliance with all rules and regulations by using safe methods of equipment repair/upkeep. Working 8.5 hour shifts, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am Double time on Sundays $1.50/hour night shift differential What you need: Mechanical and electrical aptitude Efficiently perform regular and preventative maintenance related to the plant, equipment, and grounds in compliance with standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and safety policies as enforced by OSHA. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment during the production process as needed. Effectively perform and assist in repair or updating and installation of equipment. Perform troubleshooting of equipment, including both electrical and mechanical systems. Complete and update work orders using in-house systems. Complete and maintain routine and preventive records and logs. Works closely with production to minimize downtime while maintaining quality. Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience. Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently. Perform buildings and grounds maintenance/up-keep as needed. Maintain a working knowledge of all plant area processes. Accurately read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders. Must be able to communicate, read, write and understand English. Willingness to learn and work as a team Where you'll be working: Our presence in Le Sueur, MN, consists of the following locations: Le Sueur Cheese, Le Sueur Ingredients, Le Sueur Protein Research Center, and Le Sueur Business Office. Our cheese facility produces various types of cheese, including cheddar, Monterey Jack, Asiago, Fontina, Parmesan and Romano. Our ingredients facility runs various whey streams, including; whey protein isolate (WPI), whey protein concentrate 34 (WPC 34), whey protein concentrate 80 (WPC 80) and both pharma and food-grade lactose.
