Our client is seeking a skilled Business Analyst well-versed in local government planning and permitting software systems, particularly Accela. This position may work on-site or remote but should be available to meet on-site in Lawrenceville, GA upon request with advance notice.

This role involves analyzing current business processes, identifying areas for improvement, documenting requirements, and acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and Department of Information Technology Services Accela developers. Proficiency in Accela solution architecture and a solid understanding of planning and permitting operations are essential for effective knowledge transfer and alignment between business needs and technical implementation.

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or IT, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working as an Accela Business Analyst

  • 3+ years of experience creating/developing/managing Accela system solutions

  • 3+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing agile project management methodologies

  • Advanced skills in Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Jira

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

  • Assist Planning & Development staff with the analysis, design, and implementation of Accela system solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment between departmental objectives and Accela system capabilities.

  • Drive the development of Accela system solutions and actively engage with users to anticipate and identify potential issues, facilitating proactive resolution and minimizing disruptions.

  • Collaborate closely with Accela developers to address identified issues promptly and effectively, ensuring smooth system operation and user satisfaction.

  • Employ advanced skills in Accela, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Power BI, and Jira to facilitate requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, and communication.

  • Conduct comprehensive presentations encompassing demonstrations and training sessions to effectively communicate Accela system functionalities, updates, and best practices to stakeholders.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance overall team proficiency and project success.
