Volt is immediately hiring for an HR/Payroll Administrator in Lawrence, NY.

As an HR/Payroll Administrator you will:

Human Resources

  • Process all new employees and explain benefits offered.
  • Lead new hire orientations and Open Enrollment period.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and best practices.
  • Conduct personal one-on-one employee sessions.
  • Manage all benefit plans and monthly invoicing.
  • Administer unemployment, worker's comp, short-term disability and PFL.
  • Process employment verification forms.
  • Comply with COBRA regulations, pension, compliance reports and other Affordable Care Act compliance testing.
Payroll
  • Process ADP WFN payroll for weekly for hourly employees and semi-monthly for salaried employees; seasonal payroll in summer months. (275 employees)
  • Prepare and maintain employee files.
  • Maintain vacation and sick time records.
  • Develop in depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS.
  • Process all exiting employees for final payments, Cobra benefits, pension payouts and unemployment benefits.
  • Review and submit 1095 compliance forms and schedules.
  • Generate W-2 and 1099 information for year-end distribution.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll deductions.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely filing of all periodic and annual reports and tax returns.
This is a full-time opportunity. Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM & Friday 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM Excellent summer schedule too!

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting with 3+ years related experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll procedures and applicable Federal and NYS laws.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Good verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Computer literacy, including word processing and spreadsheet software.

Salary: $70,000- $75,000

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
