Tufts Medicine Sr. Staff Educator in Lawrence, Massachusetts

Summary/Objective

The Senior Clinical Staff Educator develops, implements, and provides staff education and competency related to assigned projects. Focus will be on onboarding of clinical field clinicians, including new graduates. Acts as educator to improve and enhance functional capabilities of all licensed and non-licensed personnel and volunteers by the provision of orientation, continuing education and in-service programs.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Onboarding of clinical field clinicians.

  • Assist in development, implementation and documentation of annual professional competencies.

  • Train staff in EMR products and computer/program use.

  • Assist in the assessment of staff education needs audit, results from clinical record reviews, patient satisfaction surveys, incident reports and external auditors.

  • Provide and/or arrange for In-service Programs to meet staff needs as identified in surveys, needs assessments, strategic plans etc.

  • Participates in epidemiology and risk reduction for patients, staff, visitors, and other healthcare disciplines.

  • Participates in daily operations of the infection prevention/control program in collaboration with the Clinical Leadership.

  • Prepares a monthly/quarterly infection control report for the committee meetings, which presents surveillance data and trends and epidemiologically significant findings, as assigned.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications and the Liaison Department to plan and implement continuing education Programs for referral sources and the community.

  • Comply with the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation continuing education process rules and regulations.

  • Assist in development and maintenance of formal preceptor program.

  • Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum.

  • Assist with the coordination of CPR instruction and appropriate documentation for professional staff.

Hours and Location:

Per diem- Lawrence, MA

Required Education and Experience

  • RN with minimum 1-2 years home care experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in staff education, teaching or training across multi-disciplinary clinical domains (preferred)

  • Prior management experience (desired).

  • BSN required.

  • Licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

  • Prior experience in EPIC (preferred) EPIC Dorothy and Comfort credentialing (preferred)

  • Become certified in Lean Six Sigma

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Teams/Zoom, Word, Power Point, and Excel.

  • Able to communicate appropriately to all levels of staff, clinical leadership and executive leadership.
