Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Executive Administrative Assistant in Lawrence, Massachusetts

The Executive Assistant supports the Executive Director/CEO and the administrative offices by performing administrative functions needed for the smooth of the operation of GLCAC.


  • Supports CEO and senior leadership team on a variety of complex situations including but not limited to internal corporate communications, interaction and communication with Board of Directors, and communications with external partners

  • The Executive Assistant serves as a trusted and primary point of initial contact on matters pertaining to the CEO. Role requires candidate who can serve as representative of CEO, as appropriate, in communications and interactions with internal and external customers and partners.

  • The Executive Assistant is responsible for independently researching, prioritizing, and following up on multiple incoming complex issues and concerns addressed to the CEO, including those of sensitive and/or confidential nature; determines appropriate course of action, referral, and/or response.

  • Handles a variety of clerical, analytical and administrative functions, including meetings and coordinates various aspects of interdepartmental communication as necessary.

  • Plans and organizes board and committee meetings.

  • Assists in coordination of new board member / committee member orientation and onboarding.

  • Coordinates special committee activities at direction of the CEO.


  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple responsibilities.

  • Excellent time management and administrative skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, database management and internet.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages).

  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate with a diverse audience.

  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights and occasional weekends.

  • Ability to publicly represent GLCAC.

  • Must have a suitable CORI and SORI check completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
