Position Summary

The R+D Accelerator brings together Nestlé scientists, students and start-ups to advance science and technology with the objective to accelerate the development of innovative value propositions.They have access to Nestlé’s R&D expertise and infrastructure, including shared labs, kitchens, bench-scale and pilot-scale equipment.

The R+D Accelerator in Lausanne is part of Nestlé’s global R&D network and located at the company’s fundamental research entity Nestlé Research, which employs around 4,000 people worldwide. It is at the heart of a unique innovation ecosystem with a high density of expertise in Food and Nutrition. This ecosystem includes several units of Nestlé’s R&D organization, leading academic institutions as well as a wide range of innovation partners, suppliers, and start-ups.

As a “Accelerator Innovation Specialist”, you will join a mixed project team of internal employees and external hires in The R+D Accelerator to transform an idea into a value proposition test launch within 6 months. You will be hands on the different steps of the end-to-end innovation process to bring your product to the shelves.

A Day in the Life of an Accelerator Innovation Specialist

• Develop innovation mindset and learn key tools to accelerate innovation

• Analyze consumer relevant data and insights aligned to the project

• Engage or lead product development and manufacturing tasks

• Co-create with consumers the most desired value proposition

• Engage or lead marketing, Branding and Communication essentials

• Act as end-to-end project coordinator, with full budget responsibility

• Pitch your ideas to Nestlé experts and senior mentors and collect their feedback

• Prepare and finalize a test launch – either in retail or online.

What will make you successful

  • Having an entrepreneurial mindset, and being open to learn new disciplines and ways of working

  • You thrive working in teams and wearing many hats at a time

  • Passion for innovation as part of your DNA

  • You have experience in one of these disciplines: product development and manufacturing, project management, marketing or data analytics

  • Fluent in English is a must
