Description:

Summary:

Provides timely beverage and food service in a friendly and courteous manner at the assigned areas, including poolside and cabanas. Keep assigned areas clean and empty of glasses, cups, bottles, trash and dishes, while constantly looking for service opportunities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Presents menus, suggests cocktails/cold beer/non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers and specials and serves food and beverages efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • Totals the bill, checks bills for accuracy and obtains payment from the guest.

  • Prepares Cabana rentals at the pool while making sure all guests are helped in a timely manner, including setting up and maintaining cabana goods and services.

  • Set-up, maintain and close work stations in an efficient, clean and timely manner.

  • Assists in setting up tables, booths and/or cabanas, including tableware and condiments.

  • Ensures tables, cabanas and poolside areas are kept clean and cleared of all unnecessary items.

  • Adhere to all hotel operating standards and Health Department sanitation and safety regulations as required.

  • Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow employees.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Beverage and food service knowledge.

  • Experience as Beverage and/or Food Server required.

  • Previous experience as a pool server preferred.

  • Ability to use the Infogenesis computer system.

  • Excellent guest service skills.

  • Comfortable serving in designated uniform.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written form.

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.

  • Verify right to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly walk, stand or stoop, sometimes on narrow and/or slippery surfaces.

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

  • Walk, stand or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces.

  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.

  • Work outside with temperatures that may reach and/or exceed 120 degrees.

  • Constant use of vision and hearing.

  • Constant use of speech to communicate with customers.

  • Ability to handle reservations on the phone and in person.
