GBC Advanced Materials Raw Materials Processor/Material Prep in Latrobe, Pennsylvania

Assists with all necessary operations related to the mixing and screening of materials to required specifications by following established procedures and formulas.  Works with equipment such as wet or dry mills, SWEECO, P. K. Blender, Mullers, Rotex, Rotap,spray dryer, scales, etc.  Receives supervision from Department Supervisor and may receive direction from Engineering.

Primary Functions:

Assists in Operating and cleaning all mixing, screening, blender, and related equipment necessary to produce mixed ceramic, glass, or other materials for use in fabricating product.

Follows written specifications regarding quantities, times, viscosity, temperatures, particle size, yields, etc. and take corrective action where necessary to control equipment malfunctions or to preserve quality of materials.

Performs all miscellaneous and necessary related activities required to maintain continued and efficient operation of department, such as testing samples for the Lab, etc.

Transfers and/or stores bulk materials and finished raw materials as required manually or with cart or forklift.

Maintains all required records related to assigned activities such as run times (in ERP), quantities, viscosities of materials, particle size, etc.

Works in conjunction with Engineering Personnel to assure proper specifications of materials, equipment performance and for advice on new, changed or problem specifications or procedures.

Maintains assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.  Works in a safe manner and observes all safety rules and practices.

Works under minimum supervision, but notifies Department Supervisor and/or Engineering of any unusual situations requiring their attention.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
