IT Project Manager Golden Entertainment Corporate (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout the life cycle. The candidate will need to gather and document both system and functional requirements and analyze the system to ensure system functionality. Ensure that the best business practices are used and that the developers/vendors execute the requirements stated.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Directs Performing requirements analysis

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions

  • Document both Business and/or Functional Requirements

  • Directs and manages project development from beginning to end

  • Defines project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

  • Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

  • Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

  • Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes when necessary

  • Where required, negotiates with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company

  • Determines and assesses the need for additional staff or consultants and makes the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during the project cycle

  • Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team

  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths

  • Tracks project milestones and deliverables

  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations

  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas

  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises and devises contingency plans

  • Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle

  • Reports project status to IT Management on all current and upcoming IT related projects in a centralized timeline

  • Assists IT management in prioritizing current and upcoming projects based on available resources

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position

  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • At least two years of both business analyst and project management experience in an information technology environment, including experience in cross-functional project management methods and techniques preferred

  • Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment

  • Knowledge of the techniques for managing cross-functional teams

  • Skill in planning and preparing written and verbal communication

  • Skill in technical planning of information technology projects

  • Skill in working with groups to build consensus

  • Skill in effectively serving a divergent customer base

  • Ability to synthesize project information and establish the appropriate scope of a project

  • Ability to apply strong project management skills and methodologies

  • Ability to create new work processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users

  • Previous experience leading in both small groups and one-on-one situations

  • Previous experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects

  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design

  • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures

  • Experience working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Must have reliable communication (i.e., cell phone, pager) readily available when not at work in case company needs to reach out during non-scheduled work hours

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent educational experience preferred

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
