Shepard Exposition Services HR Learning Specialist in Las Vegas, Nevada

The HR Learning Specialist provides companywide learning content design, development, and administrative responsibility for the Learning Management System (LMS). This position is a part of the team that focuses on supporting the learning and performance culture at Shepard.

Essential Job Duties

Learning Management System Administration

  • Coordinate LMS activities for training events including registration, scheduling training rooms, sending notifications, scheduling attendees and facilitators, and creating and preparing course materials including evaluations and handouts

  • Understand and adhere to current compliance policies and procedures such as anti-harassment training, understanding the differences in regulations based on location and branches

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of data uploads into the LMS including adding and deleting courses, as well as creating and maintaining learning objects

  • Assist with the response and close out of issues received in the Learning and Development email alias

  • Develop and manage professional development learning paths and role frameworks for input and tracking in the LMS. This may include partnering cross-functionally to identify role-specific training requirements.

Learning Content Development, Design, and Management

  • Create engaging content, including presentations and online resources (e.g. Learning SharePoint site and virtual instructor-led training material) with a focus on diverse learning perspectives

  • Develop and/ or research options for learning content based on the needs of the organization and specific functions

  • Conduct thorough learning needs assessments ensuring outcomes provide robust metrics and deliver against identified key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Support other learning and performance projects as needed

Requirements

  • Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; experience and/or training/certification may be substituted for formal education

  • Experience as a Training Coordinator, Learning Specialist, Learning Facilitator, Instructional Designer, or similar role

  • 3+ years of experience with the use of learning management systems required, strong plus for experience with Cornerstone LMS

  • Proficiency in learning design software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate

  • Storyline, or other eLearning programs with an aptitude for new software and applications

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
