KBR Sr. Architecture System Engineer in Las Cruces, New Mexico

Title:

Sr. Architecture System Engineer

KBR is seeking a Sr. Architecture Systems Engineer to join our team supporting our customer in Chantilly VA that delivers mission-critical capabilities directly supporting intelligence-gathering missions from NRO overhead systems. We engineer spacecraft command and control systems and process the resulting collected data into useful information distributed to US Government Intelligence Community and Military users.

As a member of our team, you will perform classic systems engineering functions within the architecture team of the Ground Enterprise Directorate. Activities may include architecture and system definition, use of CAMEO and related Model Based Systems Engineering and architecting applications, engagement with acquisition offices, coordination of interfaces and the creation of architecture level products to support major system acquisition processes across the space and ground programs spectrum.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Support and advise the customer in developing enterprise-wide strategies addressing challenges and exploiting opportunities, drafting future architecture plans, identification of threats, challenges and opportunities

  • Create, deliver, and maintain architecture descriptions, digital models, CONOPS, and other architecture products as appropriate

  • Support the enterprise-wide budget planning process via the development, coordination, and issuance of enterprise architecting guidance in accordance with enterprise-wide strategies

  • Lead enterprise-level working groups to support the development and buy-in of new or enterprise implementation of existing capabilities

  • Support and advise customer on mission partner, stakeholder, and user community system and enterprise architecture and readiness reviews

  • Participate in user engagement and needs solicitation activities; drafting briefings, white papers, conducting assessments

  • Create, deliver, and maintain technical assessments on technological opportunities and risks in consideration of incorporating into the architecture

  • Maintain and update customer architecture related policies and procedures

    Minimum qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

  • Bachelor’s Degree (STEM or advanced degree preferred)

  • 15+ years similar working experience

  • Working knowledge of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)

  • Working experience in DoD or IC

    Desired qualifications:

  • Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications and technology

  • OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional certification or demonstrated commensurate level of knowledge

  • Knowledge of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)

  • Knowledge and experience with System Modeling Language (SysML)

  • Experience with Cameo, SparxEA, or Rhapsody tool suites

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
