Position Summary

Provides and is responsible for patient assessment, treatment, airway and ventilator management, establishes therapeutic objectives, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the pulmonary system during the transport process. under the direction of the Medical Director and Leadership of the Memorial Medical Transport Team. The team will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes and enhance performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive patient outcomes through the provision of quality and standard care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • o Minimum Education: Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program approved by CoARC. Bachelors in Healthcare Related Field-Preferred o Minimum Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a healthcare setting in adult, pediatric, neonatal and emergency setting required. o Certification/Licensure: Required- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist. Required-New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioners License required- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS, STABLE, and NRP certifications. Required in 24 months- Hold a Secondary Credential (NPS, C-NPT, and ACCS). Required- AARC and NMSRC Membership.

For New hires: BLS and STABLE certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment. If currently certified, must maintain current certification. NRP and PALS certifications must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. ACLS must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.

Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
