WSP USA PROJECT MANAGER in LAS CONDES, Chile

WSP Caribbean Limited (WSP) provides consultancy services within the Caribbean region, specializing in project management, architecture design, engineering design (civil, structural, mechanical and electrical), and land use planning services. WSP is locally dedicated with international scale, being a part of one of the world’s leading engineering professional services consulting firms, employing approximately 66,300 people.

The Project Manager provides technical, administrative, supervisory and mentoring services that ensure that internal and external client needs are met, and component projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets. The PM manages human, financial, information and material resources to meet department objectives. The PM complies with company policies and procedures and relevant engineering, safety and environment standards in the conduct of the work. The PM is expected to exercise strong initiative, managerial capabilities and good stakeholder relations.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Establish the organizational framework for each assigned project, including a Project Management Plan.

2 Manage assigned projects ensuring that scope, schedule, quality and cost are aligned with contractual obligations and clients’ expectations.

3 Apply techniques for planning, tracking, change control and risk management.

4 Manage and coordinate the activities of all internal and external project resources, ensuring they are clearly tasked.

5 Develop and maintain an effective communication plan with the project team and stakeholders, including scheduling of meetings and preparation of progress reports.

6 Proactively identify and manage risks and any issues as they arise.

7 Provide day-to-day direction to the project teams.

8 Mentor and coach junior staff to achieve successful outcomes with their assigned projects.

9 Assist in the development of PM methods and processes to improve the operations of the department.

10 Review scope of works and specifications for tendering and contracting and undertake bid evaluations.

11 Prepare and / or respond to briefs, pre-qualifications, Expressions of Interest and RFPs.

12 Deliver Company goals and objectives and comply with its policies and procedures.

13 Assess the work performance of subordinate staff in accordance with Company policies/procedures.

14 Assist in the development of departmental goals and objectives.

15 Prepare internal project reports and status updates.

16 Provide technical advice and expertise.

17 Assist with the preparation of the Department’s Annual Budget and work programme.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

— Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent, from a recognised University

— PMP Certification

— At least 3 years of relevant project management experience. Experience specific to the property and buildings sector would be an asset

— Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite

— Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

— Excellent time management with strong planning and organization skills
