Job Summary

Provide EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) oversight, guidance, competency, and leadership, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Corporate Standards. Lead, monitor, audit, and provide consulting for maintaining a proactive EHS program to achieve facility and divisional goals and objectives. The position will report to the Divisional EHS Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Site subject matter expert resource for related Environmental, Health and Safety information on procedures, guidelines, and standards.

  • Ensure compliance tasks are completed (OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local requirements applicable to the site).

  • Implementation of a detailed, task level, day to day EHS program, standards, and procedures. With guidance from the Divisional EHS Manager, ensures all facility needs are covered in the program.

  • Implementation of site occupational health programs including but not limited to: Incident Investigation, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Contractor Safety, Fire Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, and more.

  • Collaborate across business units to ensure consistent application of programs.

  • Performs internal environmental surveys and reporting of the data.

  • As required, conduct and document investigations and classification of incidents and ensure follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences that are addressed.

  • Facilitate development and review of area safety procedures and practices and ensures alignment with Site & Corporate policies and standards.

  • Assist in developing and achieving area and/or site EHS goals.

  • Performs regular occurring inspections and audits to maintain compliance, best practices and a safe working culture.

  • Manages and oversees the hazardous waste removal and handling process.

  • Responsible for customer inquiries on shipping, handling, and disposal of chemicals.

  • Responsible for generating literature for orders, SDS, etc.

  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Job Responsibilities Part II

  • Responds to problems and issues in a tactful and expedient manner.

  • Collects data and generates reports and metrics.

  • Provide strong influence leadership to achieve strong, sustained systems and processes that support compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field.

  • 5+ years general industry experience with increasing responsibilities in safety management or line leadership with safety emphasis and expectations

  • Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred.

  • Microsoft Office knowledge and skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong data management and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatory.
