We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Production Coordinator within our La Porte VCM plant located in La Porte, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain as our highest priorities: Protection of our environment, health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities, safe transport of the products we ship.
  • Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
  • Prepares and maintains files for the production units including critical items checklists, safety checks, operator round sheets, ISO records, production reports, operating logs, etc.  All the daily paperwork management and filing systems. 
  • Reviews daily production, efficiency, and raw material usage reports and reconciles month-end reports for unit responsibility areas.
  • Assist SMC on operating logs and unit SOP's updates as marked for the process areas.
  • Performs all administrative functions for the supervisors, superintendent, and manager of the department.
  • Prepares production volumes, raw material usages, internal consumptions, and operating material usages for monthly financial closings for responsibility areas.
  • Inputs all production SAP data as Core User and completes month end functions in SAP system including all production posting, consumption adjustments, sales orders issuing, stock transports, and pipeline raw material receipts.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues within the SAP system related to production needs.
  • Establishes, submits, and maintains data, reports, and records for all products. manufactured, shipped, and inventoried.
  • Updates unit files and inputs information for monthly unit key measure charts.
  • Tracks production department action items and status.
  • Reviews daily production, efficiency, and raw material usage reports and reconciles month-end reports for unit responsibility areas.
  • Updates and maintains computer database systems related to production systems.
  • Order supplies, coordinate meetings and meals, and provide other assistance as- needed.
  • Performs Traffic Coordinator duties for Chlorine and serve as back-up for the Traffic Coordinator.
  • Provide support and coverage for other department Coordinators and departments as-needed.
  • Handle special projects and assignments as directed by supervision.
  • Assist in the head count of employees for the La Porte Plant administration building rally point during plant emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. A two-year college degree is preferred.
  • Must be very detail oriented, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be dedicated to making sure all information received and communicated is 100% accurate
  • Must be willing to accept daily change.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be very skilled in SAP and Excel.
  • Preferably have knowledge of RAILTRAC , Railroad EDI (Railconnect), Yardmaster & Union Pacific Systems.
  • Be a leader in managing shipping records as per Oxy records management policies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercises initiative and judgment and makes decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Must be flexible in meeting departmental needs.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies and work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
  • Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required.
