Position Summary:

The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Assesses patient condition using vital signs, test results, monitor readings, etc.

  2. Interacts with patient families regarding patient condition

  3. Performs hemodynamic monitoring and interprets results

  4. Responds to medical emergencies within the medical center

  5. Manages life-support systems

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License

  • BLS certified

  • ACLS within the first 6 months of hire

  • TNCC within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

  • Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty or 2+ years acute care RN experience

  • Previous completion of AACN ECCO modules

  • Specialty certification within the specific unit
