We are currently seeking a Quality Coordinator to join our Lansing facility. Reporting to the Multi-Market Quality & EHS Manager, your primary responsibility will be to provide overall support for all functions associated with maintaining the quality of our product from order to delivery and day-to-day inspection of parts to meet all aspects of customer requirements within our service center(s). Duties include but are not limited to: * Works closely with the Multi-Market Quality Manager to improve processes locally and regionally * Manages the implementation and auditing of the ISO 9000 family of Quality Management Systems in assigned location(s) * Oversees the job training programs in the assigned location(s) to ensure compliance to EHS and ISO system * Completes quality inspections on customer orders based on customer requirements, confirm effectiveness of implemented corrective actions (quality and environmental), and audit any sort/rework activities * Oversees measurement device and equipment calibration - maintain primary and master standards * Supports the Customer Claims (with Administrative Assistant) process ensuring resolution and verification of rejected material * Completes PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and First Article Inspections involving the reading of Part Drawings and documenting findings; following AIAG methodology and/or customer specifications * Implements corrective and preventive actions based on determined actions by assigned team to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction; utilizing quality toolbox for root cause analysis/corrective action * Gathers Statistical Process Control (SPC) data on key processing equipment, as required * Develops Quality Continuous Improvement Processes to better serve our customers * Represents Ryerson at customer visits when requested * Champions Environmental, Health and Safety - joint role with facility operations manager/supervisor (audits, reporting accidents, facilitating training, etc) * Performs monthly Quality and EHS reporting to support management review and improvement initiatives * Maintains a living action item list to drive closure of assigned tasks

Position Requirements: * Completed High School diploma or equivalent * 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the metals industry * Exposure to SAP is preferred * Some blueprint reading experience is an asset * Outstanding computer skills with the ability to apply knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) * Solid experience creating reports and manipulating data using database applications * Excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills
