Actalent Process Engineer in Lansing, Michigan

Description:

This company provides interior soft trim and acoustic systems & components to the automotive industry. Acoustic is the division they are in but they supply carpet and sound damping for GM, Rivian, Lucid, Ford. GM being their biggest customer. They provide to Lansing Delta township and Lansing grand river.

This process engineer will be figuring out how to standardize work, make improvements within manufacturing processes, how to change a way an employee does something during the process to enhance and make it more efficient. They will be improving a process to take time out and improve the efficiency (process flow, process improvement, cycle times standardization). This position is very hands on and they will be troubleshooting and fixing equipment as needed. They will be focused on many different manufacturing processes- nothing specific. They will work close with the maintenance team and they will be the only process engineer on this 2nd shift.

Example: They will look at how long it takes the material to get through the entire process and they need to figure out how that can be improved and make it more efficient.

Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

  • 2+ years of process improvement experience

  • Robotics or PLC knowledge (Motoman, ABB, Fanuc)

  • Experience training others (Teach the line workers if you make a change to the process)

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Mechanical experience

  • Degree

  • Automotive experience

  • Water jet experience

  • Carpet experience
