Smithers DT LLC Distribution Testing Technician in Lansing, Michigan

*SUMMARY:  *Conducts or assists with all technical center activities including, but not limited to, testing, reporting, and facility maintenance. Works closely with the laboratory staff, customers, and vendors.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical **-Execute testing projects under the supervision of a project engineer. -Collect and store data appropriately. -Assist in the creation of technical reports under the supervision of a project engineer. -Operate test equipment. -Operate forklifts. -Recommend measures to improve procedures and the use of equipment.

*Team *-Maintain project records, center's database and service schedule. -Maintain a high level of cooperation and communication with all employees, peers, colleagues. -Assist in solving work related problems. -Work within the requirements of a defined quality system. -Perform facility maintenance, repair, restoration, and organization, as required. -Order facility supplies, as required. -Set up and ship out small parcels and freight, as required.

*Commercial *-Interact with current or potential customers professionally. -Communicate new ideas and suggestions for improved efficiency and service offerings. -Understand the project estimate and manage time to ensure project profitability.

*EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: *-High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) is required. -A two-year technical college degree or equivalent experience with dynamic test equipment (e.g. LANSMONT equipment) is preferred.
