Job Description: • The successful candidate will be responsible for using their cell and molecular biology skills to characterize antiviral drug resistance. • For success in this role a candidate who is flexible with day-day routine, has a high degree of scientific curiosity and, is willing to learn is required. • Scientific techniques used in this role will include, but are not limited to; mammalian cell culture, microscopy, high-content imaging, additional cell-based assays, nucleic acid/protein extraction and RT-PCR. • Virology, Western Blot, qPCR experience is required.

Qualifications: Education: • Minimum required: B.Sc. in biochemistry or biological sciences with 6+ years hands-on lab experience is must • M.Sc./PHD degree with 4+ years hands-on lab experience is must Required: • Cell and molecular biology experience. • Tissue culture experience. • Experience with PCR primer design and nucleic acid analysis. • Sequence analysis expertise. • Virology experience is nice to have. • Biosafety lab(BSL-II) experience. • Strong writing and presentation skills. • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented. • Excellent record keeping/laboratory notebook skills. • Critical thinking; able to evaluate results and troubleshoot issues. Software: Data analysis including Excel and Prism, Geneious Prime software experience is nice to have or expertise with similar software is considerable. Personality: • Curious • Enthusiastic • Self-motivated • Independent • Focused • Communicates well Note: 1year assignment with possibility of extension. 100% onsite lab based role.
