[N[A[I Michael is the suburban Maryland representative of N[A[I Global, a leading global commercial real estate brokerage firm. Located in Lanham, Maryland, our accounting and finance department is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced accounting team. Our Staff Accountants provide full cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio consisting of Retail, Office and Industrial properties. The successful candidate must be highly organized and able to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while meeting department deadlines. Accounting background with familiarity in property management and/or volume financial statement preparation highly valued.

  • Prepare and review financial statements to include making journal entries and various balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare management fees, owner distributions and mortgage payment vouchers.
  • Respond to audit related requests from outside auditors.
  • Complete system setup in order to complete CAM, Operating Expense and Real Estate Tax reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile 1099s for vendors and owners.
  • Review AP vouchers for proper coding/allocations.
  • Assist Property Managers with resolving tenant and vendor matters as well as budget preparation.

    Requirements: 2+ years of full cycle accounting experience * Intermediate Excel skills - * Knowledge of GAAP. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency while ensuring accuracy. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Capacity to manage multiple tasks amid shifting priorities. Assertive personality to drive completion of processes. Strong work ethic and self-motivation. Flexibility to handle expected and unforeseen tasks with professionalism. Experience with Yardi or other major ERP systems desirable.
