Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. HVAC Service Tech in Lanham, Maryland

This is a skilled mechanical and electrical position, performing maintenance, installation, diagnosis and repair of air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems for commercial and industrial applications. Systems can range in size from small self-contained package units to large tonnage build up systems including pneumatic/DDC controls and related system components including, pumps, boilers, chillers, and interconnecting piping. This position strives for maximum efficiency and minimum downtime on HVAC equipment. This technician reports to the Service Manager.

DUTIES:

  • Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.

  • Maintains and repairs chiller equipment (all types)

  • Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • May lead and direct the work of others.

  • Follows all safety practices and adhere to all safety related policies.

  • Makes recommendations to customers to improve operation of existing system.

  • Offers features such as IAQ, Humidification, or Energy Audit Services

  • Provides accurate and timely communications to internal and external customers.

  • Responds to emergency calls.

  • Demonstrates initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations.

  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduate or other equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of actual, practical working experience in the plumbing and pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service and maintenance industry.

  • Minimum journeyman level HVAC license MD, VA or DC.

  • Universal CFC certification

  • Must be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC&R controls and systems while energized and operating in close proximity to moving parts.

  • Experience with commercial/industrial equipment.

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.

  • Able to perform general building maintenance.

  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders.

  • Must be able to work on roof tops.

  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
