System One Technical Quoting Specialist in Landisville, Pennsylvania

Our client in Lancaster County is hiring a Technical Quoting Specialist for their manufacturing facility! This is a direct hire position on day shift position.

The individual in this role will be required to work onsite 100% of the time. Remote/hybrid schedule cannot be offered at this time. The Quoting Specialist will report to the Cost Estimating & Inside Sales Team Managers.

Job Duties:

  • Interface with customers/prospects via phone, email and visits to obtain information needed for quoting.

  • Utilize computer skills to Enter information (such as customer name/contact, part number, etc) into ERP system to set up quotes.

  • Read and understand customer drawings, specifications & RFQ requirements.

  • Utilize technical skills to generate bills of materials and the manufacturing sequence of operations needed to produce the item.

  • Prepare cost estimate based on BOM and manufacturing sequence developed.

  • Create documents using Microsoft software (i.e., Excel, MS-Word) when needed to support quote activity. Documents include, but are not limited to: cost spreadsheets, technical write-ups for proposals, schedules.

  • Collect and organize information used to generate quotes (such as the manufacturing routing, vendor quotes, exceptions taken, etc) to facilitate transition to manufacturing when the quote becomes an order.

  • Submit completed quotes to customers via email.

  • Provide project management for new orders by being the subject matter expert (SME) by using the information generated/collected during the quote state. Offer leadership/guidance to departments (such as Operations, Purchasing & Quality) as these orders progress through the manufacturing process.

  • Be the technical liaison with the customer.

  • Generate purchase requisitions when purchased items are needed.

  • Utilize understanding of configuration management & change control to ensure the proper product revision is manufactured and delivered to the customer.

  • Review ultimate end user documentation received from customers to determine if the item is classified.

  • Prepare supporting documents for license applications for orders requiring export licenses from the U.S. State Department .

  • Determine the Export Classification Control Number (ECCN) for commercial products and identify if an export license is required from the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

  • Provide technical support to outside sales personnel as required.

  • Travel to customer locations to support growth opportunities.

    Requirements:

  • Requires a four-year college degree or equivalent.

  • Requires up at least one year experience
