Position Summary:  The Quality Assurance Engineer manages and supports daily activities for all quality aspects of a specific program(s) or for a specific Customer's contracts.  This individual will support business system improvement activities as required by the Quality Management System (QMS).

Position Responsibilities: Manage all of the Quality Assurance requirements of assigned projects including Contract Review, Quality Planning, Control Plans, First Article Inspection, Floor Support, Customer Complaints, and Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). Interface with customer quality representatives including Program Quality Representatives, Customer Source Inspectors and DCMA personnel on all matters of product inspection, acceptance and shipping. Read, interpret and execute quality elements of assigned Contracts/Purchase Orders including Quality Clauses, FARs, and DFARs. Conduct AS9102 FAI including interpretation of Technical Data Package (TDP) with drawings, parts lists, Engineering Changes (EC), variances. Conduct MRB, dispositions and process nonconforming material for assigned projects Manage and submits all project related Quality Assurance Contract Data Requirements Listing (CDRL), Subcontract Data Requirements Listing (SDRL), and Product Acceptance documentation. Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) process for assigned projects. Attends and represent quality for project related meetings and activities as applicable (internal/external). Create necessary documentation and/or presentations to communicate with internal and external customers. Execute processes and ensures projects operate in accordance with documents AS9100 QMS and Quality Assurance related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support QAM with creating, improving, maintaining, and SOPs compliant to the QMS. Support job bid activities that may be requested from Quality Assurance Management (QAM). Execute all duties in an ethical and professional manner. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives. Write CDRL plans, procedures, and reports for items including Qualification Testing, Design Verification Testing, Environmental Stress Screening Testing, Reliability and Maintainability, System Safety, Human Factors, Hazardous Material Management, and Maintainability. Perform tasks required to act as corporate Subject Matter Expert (SME). Possible areas: PWB, GIDEP, Reliability and Maintainability (RAM), Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH), Hazardous Material Management Requirements (HMMR), Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), TIPQA software, Aegis Software. Program and operate CMM and vision systems (SmartScope, Automated Optic Inspection, Automated X-ray Inspection) Coordinate as responsible employee for all Hardware Qualification/First Article/Flightworthiness/etc. environmental testing with the Environmental Engineer. Performs process compliance audits of all manufacturing processes including product (cables, circuit card assemblies, subassemblies and complex systems, etc.) and processes (PI, SOPs, industry and military standards, etc) Essential Skills and Experience: Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities. Ability to complete a wide range of tasks of moderate complexity using advanced tech ical judgement and critical thinking. Strong computer skills including near expert skills in most of the Microsoft Office Business suite. Excellent customer service skills and focus required. Experience with Configuration Management Ability to take initiative, to meet deadlines, and to work independent a team environment essential. Technical drawing knowledge and usage of standard measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gages, etc) Knowledge of statistics, probability, algebra and scientific notation. Beneficial Skills and Experience: Experience with Military or Aerospace Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation. Experience working on DOD programs or meeting Military Specified Requirements. Professional Association license or certification (ASQ) Experience using of GD&T, Source Control Drawings, Specification Drawings, Basic knowledge of basic electrical circuits, welding, plating, or painting Experience with Environmental Testing (Temperature, Vibration, Mechanical Shock, Altitude, Salt Fog) Experiencing with Reliability and Maintainability, System Safety, Human Factors, or Hazardous Material Management. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent. Electrical understanding and background as it pertains to circuit cards and circuit card assemblies. Prior experience with International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation. Ability to obtain Electronic Industry standard certifications such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, etc. Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance. Work Environment: Office cubicle and manufacturing area Hours 7:00 -- 4:30, 9/80 Monday through Thursday, Every other Friday 7:30 am -4:00 pm occasional backshift hours as needed
